Imperial Console, Red

Lacquered a rich, regal cinnabar red, our console is a statement piece that's terrifically functional, too. Flanking two deep drawers, double-door cabinets enclose roomy shelves, adding ample storage space in the dining room, living room, bedroom or foyer. Like the antique that inspired it, it's built by hand using traditional Chinese joinery, expertly hand-finished and fitted with brass hardware.

    Lovely Console, Delivery Problematic
The good: The console is nicely finished, a deep earth red lacquer, not at all garish. Fits beautifully behind a sofa, which we have floating in the middle of a room--just the right height.
The not so good: Delivery was poorly managed and needed to be rescheduled, resulting in wasted time. We contacted Gumps customer support, when the console was not delivered, as scheduled. They said we would be contacted during the week. No call was received, voicemail left, or, as best I can tell, no attempt made to contact us. But the delivery company came through and rescheduled delivery.

    Great product/frustrating delivery experience
I love the console but delivery was a nightmare - two fellows wanted to leave it in my garage and kept showing me paperwork that directed them to leave it without uncrating it - I finally talked them into moving it to the room where I wanted it and they then struggled to finally uncrate it - I am now hesitant to order any other furniture pieces from Gump’s because of the lousy delivery experience!

This console goes quite well with the Asian motif in our home.
